I'm now an Xbox University Ambassador! & how to become it

It's my first time writing an english content in my blog! xd

I'm excited to announce that I've been accepted into the Microsoft Xbox University Ambassador!

I will be posting about the application process and the day of inauguration ceremony :)

 

Why I applied to Xbox University Ambassador

I've always loved gaming, as you can see it from my blog.

When I found out there were Xbox University Ambassador(aka 대학생 서포터즈 ⭐), I wanted to apply it right away.

Shortly thereafter, this posting appeared.

I applied right away because It will be the summer vacation during the activity period =3

​Actually I was so busy this semester that I didn't even finish writing the application until the day before.It was an activity I wanted to do, so I wrote a lot, and since the activity period is during a vacation, I focused on showing my passion for games and Xbox without much pressure 🤭.

Moreover, there is no interview in the selection process, so it is the best for college students who are in a busy semester 🥺

Best of all, you get an Xbox Series S + Game Pass (Ultimate) as a Ambassador gift!

Usually I play a lot of PC and mobile games, but I've never used Xbox before.
so I was really looking forward to the announcement XD

And luckily, I got in 🔥

I was accepted over 20:1 competition.

I was traveling abroad for a while (May 26), so I couldn't receive the call.

I was able to call them a few days later when I returned to Korea.

I got my acceptance letter in the mail!!! I can't believe I'm an Xbox University Ambassador😆.

So what is Xbox University Ambassador?

You can have an Xbox Series S and Game Pass, you get to try it out, and you get to spread the word in your own way.

There are no mandatory content requirements, just a topic!

There's also a lot of freedom in how you promote. They don't even have a mandatory social media accounts 👀.

Commencement day

Before the inauguration ceremony, the event organizers gave me a gift certificate for 배달의민족, so I happily ordered delivery food XD

 

 

On May 31 at 2pm, we had an hour-long ceremony.

I had to attend online, so in a very Microsoft-like way, it was held in Teams. Supporters were directed to a virtual background for the launch that was sent to them in advance.

We got to hear about Xbox, Game Pass, and the missions to be completed!



Six weeks is a short amount of time but I'm gonna make it count!

Lastly, I would like to share some tips for future applicants to the Xbox University Ambassador program.

I've been searching for and reading about the activities and application tips of previous applicants.

For the 4th term, I submitted the application form:
Self-introduction + Motivation + Appealing materials (portfolio).
Additionally, you need to submit a capture of your student ID.

For me, I'm play game every day lol so I had a lot of activities and experiences that I could put in my self-introduction and motivation section.

However, I didn't include ALL of them, just the core ones that I thought would be helpful to the program.



I tried to show my passion by starting with the reason why I love gaming and then mentioning my gaming-related activities.

I think this was especially helpful since I've been blogging for a long time and am no stranger to content creation (I've been blogging since I was in preschool lol).

As for social media links, I included links to my two current blogs + Instagram.

I also emphasized that I've written a lot of game and review content, and that I have a lot of experience in content writing related activities (+SNS management).



Plus, Since I've been interested in the Game Pass for a long time, I knew that there were non-Koreanized titles, so I also wrote about going to overseas game events and added that I have no trouble enjoying non-Koreanized games 😂.



I know that many people who have no experience in external activities have been accepted in this program.

Most of them were selected based on their social media presence, passion for gaming, and passion for Xbox.

So if any future applicants are reading this, don't worry if you were not very active in gaming industry, just show an interest in Xbox and Game Pass or a passion for games/console. Then you should be good to go! 👍
